Mrs. Ellen nee Newton Cameron

Peacefully passed away at her home on Thursday, November 22, 2012. Ellen was born on March 17, 1929 in North East Margaree, Inverness County, Nova Scotia. She married the love of her life John Angus Cameron in 1951 (predeceased 1980). She was a long time resident of Hamilton where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Nova Scotia at the age of 21. Ellen was an outstanding mother to Marlene Bell (Raymond) and John R. Cameron. Cherished grandmother to Glen (Dorothy), Amie (James), Trish, Cherie Elizabeth (predeceased) and John A. Loving Nan to Lucas and Maddelyn. Ellen will be sadly missed by her siblings Clara Evans, Emma MacKay, Mary MacKay and Allan Newton and by many nieces and nephews. Ellen was educated at Provincial Normal College in Truro, N.S. and received her Diploma for Teacher of Superior First Rank in 1948. Her life was dedicated to her family which she did with passion and joy. She was our anchor and enjoyed doing ceramics, cooking and reading. Cremation has taken place. A private family funeral service was held on Monday, November 26th from the TRUSCOTT BROWN AND DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 1309 King St. E. (905-549-2417).
