Ellis Johnny Tunjic

He tragically departed this world after a hard fought battle in the ICU. Over recent years Ellis displayed tremendous courage and strength when faced with multiple health challenges. The latter part of his life, due to these health issues, was very difficult on him. However he always managed to keep his sense of humour and love of life. He had a passion for music, soccer, cooking, and social gatherings with friends and family.

Ellis was one of a kind. He had a unique fashion sense. He was a sensitive and passionate soul who will be remembered by his family and friends for his contagious smile, kindness, thoughtfulness and charisma. He was the life of the party who always had a quick wit and a way of bringing everyone together. His generous spirit always put the needs of others first especially when he knew you needed it the most.

Ellis met his wife Jennifer at the Toronto Pearson Airport and they had a very strong loving bond. After years of struggling to become parents, they were blessed with two beautiful miracle babies. His children will always love and adore their father. He was a beloved husband and best friend to his wife Jennifer. Proud and loving father of Nikolas and Olivia. Cherished son of Ilija and Vesna. Dear brother of Andy and his wife Irena. Wonderful son-in-law of Keith and Johanne. Loved brother-in-law of Marlene and Juan. Ellis was the best uncle to Sofia, Julian, Diego, Joaquin, and Isla. He will be missed dearly by his many uncles and aunts in Canada, Croatia, and Herzegovina; Ivan Tunjic, Ante and Kathy Tunjic, Ana and Mili Portak, Lucija and Zoran Milkovic, the late Ruza Tunjic, Anica and the late Pero Tunjic, Ana and the late Mate Tunjic, Lenka and the late Boro Vujica, Dragica and Ante Grbavac, along with many cousins and their families, extended family members, and beloved friends. Cherished by Kumovi Duspara and Vukoje and their families. Will be missed by family friend Mandica Sertic.

Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm with Rosary at 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church 1883 King Street East, on Friday, November 10, 2023 at 11 am. Interment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. A trust fund has been set up for Nikolas and Olivia. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
