She was born to the late Juan andSimporosaManilay in Batangas, Philippines. She attended the University of the Philippines for nursing. She immigrated to Canada where she married the late Mr. Sergio Villafuerte. Esther worked as a Registered Nurse at the Hamilton PsychiatricHospital for many years until she retired. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.
Esther is survived by 2 children: Mrs. YvetteVillafuerte Reilly and Mr. Dean Villafuerte. Her son in law Dr. Christopher Reilly, and 4 grandchildren Brendan, Connor, Matthew and Sophia Reilly. As well, Esther is survived by 6 sisters, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Esther is preceded by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be held onThursday & Friday from2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. atCresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave E., Hamilton. Funeral mass will becelebrated at Annunciation of Our Lord Parish, 280Limeridge Rd W, Hamilton,on Saturday August 24th, 2013 at 9 a.m.Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Ancaster.
