Peacefully, on May 27, 2015, at the Juravinski Hospital, in her 94th year, Eva nee Staboon (Stampone) went home to the Lord. She is predeceased by her husband Gordon (2006). Loving mother of Janice (Ron) Peet and Marilyn (Bill) Shaw. Cherished grandmother to Jodi (Henry) and Kerri (David) and devoted great-grandmother to Darien, Cayley and Alison. Predeceased by siblings Angelina, Ida and Anthony. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Eva was a proud 42 year member of the Legion Branch 58 and longtime member of the Catholic Women’s League. She will always be remembered for her love of family and endless generosity. Visitation at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 7-9 pm and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with prayers at 8:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Incarnation of Our Blessed Lord Church (Barton at Nash) on Thursday June 4, 2015 at 9:00 am. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers donations to McMaster Children’s Hospital or the Make a Wish Foundation would be appreciated.
