Beloved wife of the late Angelo Sciarra. Dearly loved mother of Annette (Paolo), Daniela (Rob) and wonderful and loving “Nonna” to Ariana (Nick) and Selena (Brandon). She is survived by her sister in Italy, Giacomina Stramenga. Mom was fiercely independent, with a sharp mind until the end. Immigrating to Canada in 1957 and widowed at 61, mom continued to sew, bake, cook her famous Timballo, and stuffed olives, maintain an immaculate home and a large flourishing garden with her precious fig trees. She was always strong and feisty and successfully battled Myeloma at age 87. Spending quality time with her daughters and granddaughters was especially important, inspiring and nurturing them to continue family traditions. She touched the hearts of many, and will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews and their families. Special thanks to mom’s great neighbours, Bob and Linda, who we know watched over her after dad’s passing. Fran loved and appreciated you both! Family was important for mom; parties, laughter, many dinners. Right until the last days of her life, she was planning her 92nd September birthday party. As per your last wish, we will continue to honour your legacy by living our lives to the fullest, having parties, keeping the family united and keeping your memories alive.
