Gerald "Jerry" Eugene Mattiuz

He was a proud Dad to Ryan (Alysia), Thomas and Kristine (Mike Kelly).

His great joy was his grandchildren Khloe and Kolton, Liam, Daxon, and Wyatt who will forever remember their Grandpa through many shared stories and memories.

He will be greatly missed by his brothers Fred (Elsa) and Ron. Was loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

Jerry is predeceased by his loving wife Kosane and parents Jerry and Audrey.

Jerry was born 1953 in Hamilton Ontario where he lived his entire life.

He worked over 30 years at Stelco and spoke fondly of memories there and colleagues he worked with. He kept in touch with many Stelco friends over the years who he loved to swap stories with over coffee.

Anyone who knew Jerry knew that he was a Leafs and Raiders enthusiast, loved being in the kitchen cooking or watching cooking shows, and was an avid collector.

He often enjoyed cruising around listening to music and more than willing to meet up at Tim Hortons. Jerry was always smiling and had an uncanny ability to have a story about anything.

Through his battle with health issues over the last few years his warm and easy going disposition showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile.

Join his family and share some stories of your own to honour Jerry. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King St. E., Hamilton on Wednesday, August 3 from 7-9pm and Thursday August 4th from 10am-12pm with a funeral service in the Chapel to follow.
