Geraldine (Gerry) Copps

Geraldine was born and raised in Hamilton and was one of its fiercest supporters. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, she was predeceased by her husband Victor (Vic) in 1988, whom she stood by faithfully throughout his career and prolonged illness.

Geraldine carved out her own respected reputation in public service, politics, volunteerism and advocacy for the environment and those with challenges. Her legacy of community commitment lives on through her children and grandchildren – all of whom she was immensely proud of:

Mary (Barry); Sheila (Austin) and Danelle; Brenda (David), Emily and Elise (Ryan); Kevin (Anne), Beatrice and Gabriel. Visitation at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm with Rosary at 8:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 1393 Cannon Street East, on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 10am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in Gerry’s memory may be made to Kiwanis Boys and Girls Club, 45 Ellis Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario, L8H 4L8.
