Giovanni Castaldi

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Giovanni at his home on May 4, 2018 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Federica (nee Petrella) for 63 years. Loving father of Toni Mamone (Vince), Jan Hay (Lawrence), Sal Castaldi (Anna) and Nadine Liolli (Dave). Cherished Nonno of Miranda Hay-Romano (Rob), Lawrence Hay (Maria), Jessica Sferrazza (Sam), Breanne Radencich (Steven), Kayla Garofalo (Pasquale), Aislinn and Morgan Liolli, Adam and Zachary Castaldi. Great Nonno of Sebastian and Gabriel, Abby, Leo and Alina. Predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Antonia Castaldi and his siblings Trendino, Ignazio, Umberto and his brother-in-law Umberto De Paolis. Dear brother of Maria Sellari (Tony), Anna De Paolis and brother-in-law of Maria Antonietta. Giovanni will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada, United States and Italy. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 165 Prospect Street North, on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11 am. Entombment Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to St. Anthony of Padua Church or your favourite charity.
