Giuseppe Sergi

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Giuseppe at the age of 93. He is survived by Anna, his devoted wife of 73 years, sons Pat (Vinci), Frank (Angela), and Joe (Misty). Loving grandfather of Mark (Nadia), Melissa (Louis), Andrea (Peter), Sarah (Brian) and great-grandfather of Luke, Ava, Ellieana, Anthony, Nico and Brielle. Brother of Michele (Anna), and the late Francesco (Caterina), Pasquale (Caterina), Domenico (Maria), Antonio (Anna), Caterina, Serafina (Graziano), and Maria (Pasquale). Brother-in-law of Domenico (Rosa), Maria (Francesco), Saveria, Antonio (Rachela), Elisabetta (Domenico), Caterina (Rosario), Frank (Jackie), Bruno (Marlina), Mike (Jane), and Joe (Mary). He will be missed by many other family members in Canada, Italy and Australia.

Born in Plati, Reggio Calabria, Italy, Giuseppe immigrated to Canada in 1955 and retired after over 40 years from F.W. Fearmans Co. He was fortunate to have made many trips to Italy, Australia and New Jersey.

Giuseppe was a founding member of the Regina Social club where he enjoyed meeting with his friends every morning until the very end.

Final arrangements have been entrusted to Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street E, Hamilton. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. with Rosary at 2:00 pm. Funeral will be at 10:00 am, Friday, January 5, 2024 at St. Eugene’s Church, 232 Queenston Road. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington.
