Harry Allan McEwen

Peacefully on Sunday June 7, 2015 at the Juravinski Hospital in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Shields). Reunited with his parents Bill and Agnes, and his loved wife Margaret (2005). Loving dad of Michael McEwen (Anita) and proud grandpa of Mitchell, Patrick, Lauren, Chelsey and Brittany. Dearest step father to Anna Marie Pettipas (Todd), Michael Shields (Kim), Rosalyn Tyleman (Colin), James Glen (Dee) and loved grandpa of Philip and Sionha Tyleman. Harry was a lifetime member and past President of the Hamilton Navy Veterans Association, and a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 (Paris). He was also Past Chairman of the Hamilton Veterans Committee and a member of the Council of War Veterans. Harry was the proud recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Juravinski Hospital, Wards F3 and C4 for their excellent care of Harry. Special thanks to C.C.A.C., and PSW’s Cindy, Jacqueline and Father Hanh Van Tran of Holy Family Parish. Family and friends will be received at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) in Hamilton on Wednesday June 10th from 2-4 and 7-9pm Vigil prayers on Wednesday at 2:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church, 1393 Cannon Street East, Hamilton on Thursday June 11, 2015 at 11am. Interment at Eastlawn Cemetery (Corner of Barton and Nash St) Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Juravinski Hospital.
