The battle was fought and won. Heather leaves behind granddaughters Riley and Aubrey, grandsons Edward and Liam, daughter Jennifer and partner Ray, son Chrystopher and his love Evonne, furry boys Coda and Cadence, sister Holly, brother-in-law Tracy, niece Sydney Fordham, mother-in-law Laura, brother-in-law Keith, and husband and best friend Chuck. She was predeceased by parents Cecil and Anne McCluskey.
Heather’s love for her faith and church has been her strength throughout this battle. Her passion and support for Junior Sail at the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club kept her youthful. She loved being a part of their events over the past 20-plus years, as The Lunch Lady, making sure they were nourished on the race course.
Thank you to Dr. Carlson and her team at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, to Dr. Corey Sawchuk and the CCU team at the General, and St. Peter's Hospital for making her last days comfortable and peaceful. Thanks also to Glen Eden Ski Patrol for their continued support and to RHYC for all their love and support for our family.
Donations can be made to Junior Sail at the RHYC, Canadian Cancer Society, or Diabetes Canada. Regarding floral tributes, her favourite color was purple.
All are welcome to the visitation on Wednesday June 14th, 6pm to 9pm at Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main St. E. (east of Sanford Ave.), Hamilton. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 16th, at 11 am, at First-Pilgrim United Church, 200 Main St. E., Hamilton, followed by interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main St. W. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 pm at RHYC.
