I am so sorry for your loss.  I worked with Helen at the City of Oshawa, and always loved seeing her smiling face when I walked in the door of Fire Station 1.  She was kind, compassionate, and invariably had a moment to trade thoughts on one thing or another, and without fail, our interactions brightened my day.

I met Helen at a duplicate bridge game in Hamilton.   We had been partnered up for a game and ended up playing together for a few years.   Helen was always a delight and an excellent bridge player.  People were always remarking on her purple/pink streak in her hair and she loved to remark that she did it herself with a Sharpie!  Helen loved to laugh and we were told more than once to "keep it down" at our bridge table.  My sincerest condolences to her family.

Dear Kevin  & Kim my sincere condolences to you on the loss of your Mother.  It wasn't that long ago that you both lost your father Fred.  May you both find comfort in the Lord our Righteousness as you both grieve the loss of your Mother. Helen was an amazing lady.  One with many talents along with a great sense of humour, and of course , she was a very courageous lady, living with cancer for 7 years.  It was a pleassure to be a business associate of Helen's; working with the City of Oshawa for many years; with her last position being at the Oshawa Fire Hall.  Her  Oshawa condo apartment was well-chosen, for her early retirement years...looking west; seeing the Fire Hall on the far side of the Oshawa Creek.   When she was getting ready to  move from Oshawa to Hamilton to be closer to family, I had the pleasure of seeing her again, and meeting Kim.  I know Helen was enjoying her Hamilton retirement residence; playing bridge and enjoying Kim's little dog as her companion.  All memories of Helen are pleasant...as I am sure they are, for everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.  She will be missed by so many people.

Kim, I'm so sorry to learn of your Mom's passing.  She was a lovely, talented woman.  My condolences to you, Paula and your family.

Helen always came to her appointments with a smile on her face.  Such a sweet lady and I had the pleasure of knowing her for 6 years.
She made a contribution to research  and for  future clinical trial patients by joining two clinical trials. May you rest in peace.

Just heard about Helen’s passing.  I worked with her at the City of Oshawa for many years and also played bridge with her when she lived in Oshawa.  My condolences go to her daughter and son.  It’s always sad to hear about a friend’s passing.
