

PRATT, James Allison (Jim) Peacefully, surrounded by his family, on September 22, 2011, at the Stedman Hospice in Brantford, at the age of 85. Predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Bernice (nee Laurie). Loving father of Darrell (Dawn), Larry (Monica), Debbie and Darlene. Treasured grandfather of James, Mark, Michael, Kelly, Jeffrey (predeceased 1981) and Steven (predeceased 1996). He will always have a place in the hearts of his great-grandchildren Aiden, Jack and Liam and his extended grand-children Michael MacDonald, Kyle, and Sean Connelly. Dear brother of Keith, Roy and Bert and is predeceased by Evelyn, Ruth and Carl. Jim was a veteran of W.W. II and proudly served overseas from March of 1945 to August of 1946. He brought his family to Hamilton from Nova Scotia in 1952 and worked at Stelco as Senior Foreman/ Supervisor for 33 years until his retirement in 1985. Jim was a member of the R.C.L. Branch #163. Our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Gladstone and Shelley, Aberdeen Community Services, CCAC, Brantford General Hospital and Stedman Hospice for their compassion and exceptional care of our beloved father. Friends may call at the UPPER JAMES CHAPEL, of Cresmount Funeral Home, 1020 Upper James Street on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral and Legion Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held later. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Stedman Hospice in Brantford would be appreciated. "Dad, your quiet gentleness, will truly be missed.
