Peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Predeceased by her beloved husband Herbert (1980). Devoted and much loved mother of Gary (Mary) and Debbie. Proud and cherished grandmother of Holly ( Cam), Janna-Marie and Alainna. Longtime member of the Rosedale Senior’s Club and volunteer for the Winterfest and Senior Games. She will be sadly missed by all her friends there. Mom was always there when we needed her; she was never too busy to make each of us feel loved and special no matter what. A part of you will live on forever in each of us, along with very fond memories of your gentle, kind heart and warmth of your nurturing spirit. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the V.O.N. and especially Kerry Ann and Erica for their care, compassion and support. Visitation will take place at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME (1774 King Street East, Hamilton) on Wednesday, February 16th from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Thursday, February 17th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
