It is with sadness and broken hearts that Linda and Bonnie announce the passing of our Mother Jean Gibson.

On Sunday January 10th, in her 90th year Mom peacefully passed away at home with her girls at her side. Predeceased by her parents Annie and Archibald and her brothers James, Robert and Andrew McQuarrie. Mom lost her best friend and love of her life, our father Earl in 1998. Together they travelled on many bus trips. But they loved their cottage time on 6th Street in Selkirk. A cocktail or two on the sundeck with friends and family and they were in paradise. Mom always said she loved her life and the people in it especially Earl, Linda and Bonnie. Thanks to Hillary, the VON and HNHB LHIN. Special thanks to Mom’s Palliative nurses from VON Carly, Victor and Tiffany, your support and care of Mom made her final days more comfortable. Linda and Bonnie will miss her terribly. Our coffee runs and little lunches will not be the same. We will remember your love as a Mother and as a Friend. In honouring Mom’s wishes there will be no service. Cremation and Scattering only.

Dear Bonnie & Linda,
When life challenged us, my mother would always tell us that she could see rainbows in the future. Your loss is one of life's greatest challenges. In time, you will see rainbows.

Thinking of you.

Dear Linda & Bonnie,

We are so saddened to hear about Jean's passing. She was a good friend and will miss her very much.

We have many fond and cherished memories of so many good times at the cottage with Jean and Earl, sharing stories and laughter, playing cards and pranks on each other, dinners and "pickings" as Jean would call them, and of course enjoying our cocktails together!

We also looked forward to our get togethers during the Christmas season and admiring all the decorations each year that they would have up in their apartment. Even the ones on the ceiling! There seemed to be more and more each year.

She was blessed to have you both, Linda and Bonnie, as you took such good care of your mom. We know you will miss her very much but can take comfort that she is with your dad and enjoying good times again.

May you spread your wings Jean....we will forever remember you and our times together...and are so happy that we were able to be a part of your life....all our love to Earl as you reunite once again.

Rest in peace,

Lydia & John

Dear Linda and Bonnie,
I am so sorry to hear the sad news of your mom's passing. She meant the world to my parents and was my favourite of their friends. So many fond memories of our parents spending time together laughing around the kitchen table, having a few drinks while sharing stories of their trips and shenanigans. They could write a book.
Your mom will always be remembered as a kind and a fun loving special friend with a perpetual smile. While you have a tremendous loss without her, have comfort knowing she is with your dad.
My heart and thoughts are with you. Much love to both of you.
Wendy McLean xoxo
