Jean Simeonidis

Courageously passed away at St Peters Hospital, at the age of 68, surrounded by her devoted family on June 7th 2011. She loved to cook and had a passion for gardening, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her cherished granddaughters. She will be fondly remembered for her selfless nature, sharp wit and devotion to her husband and children. She was not the "Clubby type”, but she was a member of the "Golden Rules Club”. Predeceased by her parents Nick and Julia Novak, beloved sister Olga and brother Mike. Cherished wife of Angelo "Mr.A" for 48 years. Adored mother of Phillip (Debbie) and Kristine Leach (Robert). Proud grandmother to Ashley, Lindsey and Chloe "Lolly". Loving sister and best friend to Angie. Special thank you to Father Wasyl Makarenko for his support of Jean and her family, and to Dr Beverly Hattersley and the Staff on 3-West at St Peters for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday June 10 between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Panachyda will be held on Friday at 7:30pm. Funeral will be held at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral, 855 Barton Street E. on Saturday June 11th at 9 am. Interment to follow in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St Peter's Hospital.
