John Ferguson Sr.

passing, at home, surrounded by loved ones, on August 31, 2012 at the age of

73.

John leaves behind his loving wife, Lise, daughter Laine Ferguson (husband

Wili Liberman), sons John Jr. (wife Kathy Heard) and Steven, as well as

step children Louise Mercier (Michael Sadler), Patrick Mercier (wife

Dorothy), Pauline Dostie (husband Marcel) and Rachelle Holden (husband

Mark). Also mourning his loss are grandchildren Daniel, Andrew and Colton

Liberman, and 6 step grandchildren (Nicolas and Jenna Boll, Justice and

Shayna Mercier, Keanan and Kaitlyn Dostie). He will be missed by sister

Bette Sorley (the late William Sorley), nieces Catherine Hardwick (husband

John) and Val Smith, Felicia Hughes (husband Nick) and nephew Bill Sorley

(wife Heather).

John was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Felicia Ferguson, sister

Cathy Donald and her husband Robert.

John was born November 18, 1938 in Glasgow, Scotland. He came to Canada,

settling in the Niagara region in 1964. He held many jobs during his life,

most recently as a plumber-pipefitter until his retirement in 2000. John was

an athlete, enjoying the sport of boxing and held a black belt in Judo. When

not working, he liked to play pool and continued to do so until a few months

ago. However, anyone who knew John, knows that his passion was music. He

spent many years playing and singing in bands. He could even be heard

humming a tune not very long before he passed.

At John¹s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, (at Kenilworth) Hamilton, on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 10am until the time of Memorial Service at 11am. If so desired, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer
