John Jacina

Peacefully, on March 28, at Juravinski Hospital at the age of 92, with family at his side. Predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Charlotte and daughter Joanne Drynan. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Nancy Dawson (Larry), son-in-laws Ross and Rick, grandchildren Trevor, Matthew and Erin, great-granddaughter Charlotte, brother Joe as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by Kallie. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Arbour Creek for their compassionate care. John was a beloved teacher of 20 years who will be remembered by his students at Hill Park and Glendale Secondary Schools. He returned to school himself as an adult and graduated from McMaster University with his BA, and was also a longtime member of Glendale Golf & Country Club. Friends and family will gather at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL (1309 King Street East, across from Gage Park at the delta) on Sunday, March 30 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm as well as Monday, March 31 from 6 – 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at John Calvin Hungarian Presbyterian Reform Church on Tuesday, April 1 at 10:30 am, followed by interment in Chapel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the church or MS Society Of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
