John was born in Dugace, Croatia on February 4, 1928. Predeceased by his beloved wife Zora of 64 years. Very loving father of Mario Frankovich (Jane) and Linda Frankovich. Cherished grandfather of Hilary (Sandy) Millar and Gregory Frankovich (Larissa). Adored great-grandfather to Avery and Alexander Millar. Predeceased by brothers Stevo (Stjepan) and Joseph (Josip), and his sister Venka (Nevenka). Will be deeply missed by nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and many friends in Canada, America and Croatia. After immigrating to Canada in 1958 to seek a better life, John dedicated himself to providing for his family. At Dofasco, he rose from a basic labourer's position to a steel making supervisor and took great pride in setting award winning new standards for better production. His determination and work ethic were inspiring.
More than anything, he lived to love and enjoy life. That joy spread to family, friends, and anyone who ever met him. We can take great comfort in knowing that he is reunited with the love of his life, Zora, who was a perfectly matched equal partner in every way. Together they lived life to the fullest and now reside in peace. We thank you for everything and love you always.
