John Ivan Nytschyk

Suddenly passed away in his 91st year on September 11, 2013. Dearly beloved husband of the late Gloria of 62 years with whom he has been reunited. Cherished father to John (Patsy) of Toronto, Joseph (Cherie), Rosemary, and Mike (Ann). Dearest Dida to Matthew (Emily), Adam, Brandon, Blake and Alexandra. Survived by his nieces and nephews in Ukraine, Stephan, Volodymir, Mykhalo, Maria, Jenny Gagnon of Timmins, and Helen Walsh of Victoria, B.C. Predeceased by his brother Mykhalo and his sister Mykhalina. Mr. Nytschyk lived for his family and was the proprietor of JJ Cores Inc. for over 35 years. He was a man of great knowledge which he shared with all who knew and spent time with him and a member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church and Knights of Columbus Shashkevych Council # 7464. A very special thank you to Father Andrii Lopatniuk for all his frequent, heartfelt visits. The family will receive friends at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday, September 13 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Panachyda at 7 p.m. A Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Nicholas Ukrainian Church (260 Melvin Avenue) on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 9 a.m. Interment to follow at Mountview Gardens Cemetery in Stoney Creek. Donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
