

John Raymond Redbourne, December 30, 1936 - July 4, 2018, passed peacefully in his home. Ray joined the Canadian Air Force after high school where he serviced weapon systems on fighter jets while stationed in Germany. After 5 years, he received an honorable discharge and returned with wife, Marlene to Hamilton. Ray worked as an instrumentation technician at Dofasco for 14 years. Afterwards, he owned and operated his own successful instrumentation service business. He also taught instrumentation at Mohawk College for a short time. Ray enjoyed scuba diving, fishing and in his later years was an avid study of theoretical physics. He was a long-time member of Toast Masters and was president of the Hamilton Movie Club. Ray is survived by brothers Dave (Shirley), Dana (Chris) and Terry (Belinda), sons Lance (Jennifer), Terry and Vince (Heathar). Grandchildren Jamie, Michael and Elizabeth. Predeceased by parents Margaret Mitchell (nee Bowman) and Maurice Redbourne, brother Bobby and sister Carol and uncles Alfred and Robert. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Thanks to the health care workers, Cresmount Funeral Home and special thanks to the Hamilton Police Officers for their kind assistance.
