It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Josef at the Juravinski Hospital on Monday February 27, 2012 in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Ostapyuk) Dear brother of Michael (Nadia) of Ukraine, and uncle of Olga. Predeceased by his first wife Maria (nee Kizyn July 23 1999) and his son Slavko “Jerry”(1963). He will be sadly missed by Mary and Stephen Gaida, other family and friends. Longtime retired employee of Stelco. A special thanks to Dr. Semczyszyn and Dr. Ostapenko for their care. Family and Friends are welcome to visitation at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday February 29th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Panachyda Wed at 6pm. Funeral Service will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Thursday March 1st at 10am. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery to follow. If desired, donations may be made to Holy Spirit Church.
