Mrs. Katharine Onufryk

Peacefully passed away at the

Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by

her loving family, on Tuesday,

September 25, 2012 in her 86th year.

Dearly beloved wife of the late

Wolodymyr (1965). Dearest Mama of

Oleh (Nina-nee Tarasiuk) and

predeceased by Zenon (2003) and

his wife Sandra (nee Staughton).

Predeceased by her Aunt and Uncle

Olga and Wolodymyr Papirka.

Cherished Baba of Andriana (Jamie

Pitre), Eugene (Nicole), Rachel

(Patrick) and Kalyna. Katharine will

be fondly remembered by family

and friends in Canada, Ukraine and

U.S.A. The family would like to

thank the Emergency Staff at the

Juravinski Hospital: Dr. Alim

Pardham, Nurse Michele Kerssies,

Dr. Jason Yu and a very special

thanks to Father Brendan McGrath.

Katharine was both a teacher and a

director of the Taras Shevchenko

Ukranian School with the Ukrainian

Youth Association for over 25 years.

She loved to embroider, garden,

bake and cook for her family. The

family will receive friends at the

HOME, 1774 King Street East (at

Kenilworth) on Friday, September

28th from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Panachyda Friday at 7 p.m. Funeral

Service will be held at Holy Spirit

Church on Saturday, September 29,

2012 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Holy

Sepulchre Cemetery to follow. In lieu

of flowers, donations to the

Juravinski Cancer Centre or Cancer

Assistance Program would be

greatly appreciated.
