Katherine Angela Lubera

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathy following a brief illness on June 3rd, 2016 at the age of 52 years. Adored "Nurse Betty" by her partner David Bryce. Beloved daughter of Halina and Richard Lubera. Much loved sister of Susan Lewis (Stephen). Adoring Ciocia of Ryan, Michael and Christopher and "Mummy" of Nala. Shopping partner and niece to Diane Filippetto (Sergio) and also to Richard (Ginny) Szabunia. She will be dearly missed by her extended family and many friends.

Kathy was a dedicated RN for 28 years at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton working as Charge Nurse in the OR as well as at the Firestone Clinic. She was an ONA Union Representative for many years and a volunteer with Hamilton Police Victim Services, receiving awards for going above and beyond assisting those in need.

Her family will receive friends at the Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King St. E. on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church (200 Mount Albion Road) on Monday, June 6, 2016 at 10 a.m. followed by Rite of Committal in Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery in Stoney Creek.
