Kazimierz "Kaz" Dudzinski

DUDZINSKI, Kazimierz Antoni It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kazimierz (Kaz) on May 31, 2011 at Willowgrove Long Term Care Centre, Ancaster at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Helen for 55 years. Loving father of Ann (Jack) Connolly and Richard Dudzinski. Loving grandfather of Leslie, Alexandria and Morgan Connolly, Adam and Paul Dudzinski. He will also be sadly missed by brother Henryk, his wife Zosia, many nieces and nephews in Canada and Poland. Fondly remembered by brother-in-law Val, his wife Fay and family. Kazimierz was born in Poland and came to Canada after the war. His dedication and hard work was evident in all he did and to all those who knew him. He was a humble man, who was dedicated to his family, friends, neighbours and church, where he was a longstanding member of the church choir as well as the Polish Symfonia Choir. Kazimierz was also a proud member of the Polish Canadian Legion, Branch 315. Kazimierz served with the Tenth Mounted Rifles Regiment of the First Polish Armoured Division from 1937-1947. During the war he was involved in the various campaigns and battles for the liberation of Holland, Belgium and France. It was while stationed in England and Scotland that he met his lifelong partner Helen, who served with the RAF during WWII. Kaz retired from Stelco after 30 years of service and was co-proprietor of Barton Meat Products, where he was a butcher for many years. Special thanks to the staff of Willowgrove for their loving care of Kaz. The family will receive friends at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), Hamilton on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 7:30 p.m. followed by a Legion Service. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, 8 St. Ann St., Hamilton, on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 9 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to St. Stanislaus Church or the Polish Canadian Legion would be greatly appreciated.
