

On April 6th, 2026 at the age of 61, Kevin Sawyer passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with diabetes and it’s complications. He was the beloved husband of Kathy Sawyer for 41 years and the devoted father of five sons: Michael (Stephanie), Aaron (Kayley), David, Mark (Paige), and James.
Kevin was a proud and loving grandfather to Elizabeth, Bryson, Brianna, Charlotte, Alex, Allie, Matthew and Claire. He was a dear brother to Carrieann (Tim), Glenn (Nancy) and Daryl, and was predeceased by his parents, William Herman Sawyer and
Mabel Christine “Bunny” Sawyer (nee Fontaine). His family was his greatest pride and the foundation of his life.
Kevin was known for his remarkable intellect, steady guidance, and unwavering dedication to those around him. As Chief Technology Officer at Storagepipe, he played a pioneering role in the early development of cloud‑based storage technologies. His leadership, insight, and innovative spirit left a lasting impact on colleagues and the industry he helped shape.
Beyond his professional achievements, Kevin was a passionate motorcycle enthusiast who found joy and freedom on the open road. His curiosity, determination, and thoughtful nature made him someone others relied on—whether for technical expertise, life advice, or a calm voice in difficult moments.
Even in the face of significant health challenges, Kevin met each day with resilience, dignity, and strength. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the people he supported, and the innovations he helped bring to life.
Kevin will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, on Monday, April 13 from 10 am until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 12 pm. Burial to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.
