A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin to many, Loretta's presence brightened the lives of all who knew her.
Born in Demerara River, Guyana, South America in 1950, Loretta was one of 10 siblings.
Loretta married William Gibson in 1968 and they immigrated to Canada in 1972 with a small toddler in tow to pursue opportunity.
After William's early passing in 1987 Loretta, a very independent and self-reliant woman, succeeded in raising two children and enjoyed a rewarding career for over 20 years as an attendant at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton.
Her greatest pleasure was being in the presence of her very close-knit and extremely large and loving extended family. Loretta enjoyed spending time with her four grandchildren, cooking, sitting outside in her backyard and watching game shows.
Loretta is survived by her son Ernest and his wife Ellen: daughter Cindy and her husband Paul MacMillan; grandchildren Alyssa, Halle, Nathan and Hannah; siblings Leslie, Yvonne, Patsie, Molly, Terry, Bonney and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the following: Friends and colleagues at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, the staff at Guelph General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care, Dr Lummack, Dr Moniz, the staff at Cresmount Funeral home, Annunciation Catholic Church, Resurrection Cemetery, Jeans Flowers, and Stonechurch Family Health Care.
Memorial visitation will take place at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Monday, Dec 22 between 4:00 and 8:00 pm.

Interment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 254 Garner
Road West, Ancaster.
May she rest in Peace
