She joins her second husband Ivan (deceased 2012) and first husband Jozef Vuk (deceased 1974). Survived by adopted daughter Ida Vuk and grandson Alex Prodanovic (Nataliya). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and countless friends in Canada, Slovenia and the USA.
Maria was born in Zizki, Slovenia but immigrated to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 1957.
Maria was a long-time parishioner of St Gregory the Great Church, a proud member of Bled Planica 13, St Joseph’s Society and the Catholic Women’s League (Zenska Liga).

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 19th, 2025 from 3:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home (1774 King St East, Hamilton, Ontario) with vigil prayers at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 20th, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St Gregory the Great Slovenian Church (125 Centennial Parkway N, Hamilton). Following mass, burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery (600 Spring Gardens Road, Burlington).
