Maria Miceli

Gone to be reunited with her beloved husband Gaetano (Sept. 3, 2005). Loving mother of Joseph, Sam (Joanne) Miceli and Enza Janssen. Adoring “Nonni” to Adrienne (Kyle) Dren, Daniel Miceli, Thomas, Olivia and Julia Janssen. Daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Piazza. She is survived by her sister Giovacchina (Salvatore) Falletta and sister-in-law Angela Piazza. She is predeceased by her siblings Filomena (Santo) DeMillo, Giovanni Piazza, Giuseppe Piazza and Luigina (Giuseppe) Schillacci and in-laws Elena Miceli and Lorenzo Alfano. She will be missed by her in-laws Salvatore and Maria Billone, Pietro Miceli, Maria Piazza and Angela Alfano. Maria was a devoted mother who became very independent in her later years. She will be dearly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was a very strong person who rose to the challenge of whatever life threw at her including her final battle with Parkinson’s. Maria’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the exemplary care she received while she was living at Macassa Lodge, special thanks to our dear cousin Linda.

Visitation at MARKEY DERMODY, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), on Friday, September 6 from 4:30-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 305 E 37th Street, Hamilton, on Saturday, September 7 at 9 a.m. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in the Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
