Martin James Purtell

Born on October 14, 1941, in Kingston, Ontario, Martin was the beloved son of the late Martin and Beatrice Purtell. He was predeceased by his devoted wife of over 30 years, Gail Baughan. Lovingly remembered by special friend Lucille Cavanagh. Loving father to Dale (Dianne) and Katie, and stepfather to Jeff and Jason Baughan. Cherished brother to Shirley, Eleanor (Arley), Beverly, Barb, and Debbie (Phil), and predeceased by sisters Beatrice and Mary. Martin will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Jesse, Brenden, Kevin, Tesla, and Chelsea, and step-grandchildren Amber, Jenna, Austin & Tanner. He was a proud great-grandfather to Damica, Carliegh, Curtis, Kendall, and Ava, and step-great-grandfather to Lilly, Alivia, and Landon. He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Martin was known for his strong work ethic, kind and generous spirit, and selfless nature. He enjoyed watching curling and cooking big meals for those he loved.

Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Avenue East, on Tuesday, November 4th, from 1:00–3:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
