With great sadness but many loving years of memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Martin Tonaj in his 93rd year after a brief battle with cancer. Dad is welcomed into heaven and into the arms of his precious daughter Sandra and by his loving grandson Daniel Tonaj.
Martin was the loving and caring husband of Pauline for 72 years and mom supported and followed dad on their many adventures throughout their life together.
Loving dad of Susan (Joe) Iannuzzi, and proud grandpa to grandchildren Christiane, (Derek) Wharrie, Laurie Iannuzzi, Kimberly (Darcy) Burchell, and Gregg (Brianne) Iannuzzi. Proud Papa Pete to Callan and Brielle Wharrie, Alexander Iannuzzi, Danika, Avrie and Kamryn Burchelle, Liam, Daniel, Madison, and Nathan Iannuzzi.
Cherished dad of Monica Pratt (Larry) (Michael Connelly), who provided dad with all the support he needed; especially in caring for mom. Her devoted sons Sean (Bailey) Connelly and Kyle (Brittany) Connelly, will always cherish the memories of their Papa, along with his great-grandchildren Grayson and Isla Connelly and Tiago Da Camara.
Dad was the building partner with his son Mark (Debbie) Tonaj, who will miss his help on many projects. Loving and supportive Papa to Eryn and Ryan Robillard and Devon and Chris Tyslau and great-granddaughter Malin Tyslau.
Loving fishing partner and project manager to his son Paul, who will miss their trips on the water. Proud and supportive grandpa to Rachel (Tyler Marchi) and Brandon. Loving Papa to great-grandsons Carson and Harrison.
Dad will also be welcomed into heaven by his parents Anton and Katarina, his sister Anne (Iggy) Krampac and his brother John.
Dad made many friends over the years through work, sports, and odd jobs, but none as special as his friendship with Perry Stefani and family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street E., Hamilton, from 9:00 – 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass being celebrated at Incarnation of our Blessed Lord Roman Catholic Church, 400 Pottruff Rd N., Hamilton, at 11:00 AM.
