Peacefully with family by her side on July 24, 2010 in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Alex (2008). Much loved mother of Ken (Kathy), Jim (Dale), Carol, and Kathy Latour (Rick). Cherished and devoted Grandma of Lauri Barrette (Daniel), Gail McLennan (Rob), Susan Barker (Bryan), Kristine Hajas (Scott), Kyle Peacock (Kelly), Michelle Carolei (Frank), Trinette Krell (Eric), Cheryl Latour (Sherri) and Theresa Latour (James). She will also be dearly missed by her 13.5 great grandchildren.
Marvel was a talented homemaker and hostess to friends and family alike. She opened her home to many Mohawk College students over the years before converting it to Westmount House B&B. Warmed by Mr. and Mrs. Hajas’ gracious welcome, students and B&B guests often became like extended family inviting them to weddings and keeping in touch throughout the years.
Her family will receive friends at the Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E. on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel followed by interment.
