Mary Belle Mitchell

Peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, with her family at her side, on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. Mary Mitchell (nee Davey), 92 years, of Hamilton and Port Elgin. Wife of the late John Mitchell. Predeceased by son Teddy. Loving mother of Bob and his wife Karen of Smithers, B.C., Kathy (McHaig) and her husband Robin of Port Elgin and Doug and his wife Melanie of Port Elgin. Dear sister of Margaret (McVittie) of Stoney Creek and predeceased by her brother Reg of Hamilton. Very proud grandmother of Amy, Adam, Davey, Abby, Ian, Leanna, Gavin, Andy and James and great-grandmother of Kya, Kaylina and Kion. Mary will be sadly missed by her many family and friends in Port Elgin and Hamilton including the huge Ryerson Church gang of which she was a serving member for her whole life. A memorial Service will be held at Ryerson United Church, 842 Main St. E. on Sunday, January 16 at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow. The family of Mary Mitchell acknowledges the exceptional care placed upon her by the staff at the Southampton Care Centre, the nursing staff of Saugeen Memorial Hospital and our good friend Dr. Don. As an expression of sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to Parkinson Society Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society or Ryerson United Church in Hamilton.
