Mary is now reunited with her beloved husband, Steve (Stefo), whom she cherished and missed every single day since his passing in 2019.
She was the loving and devoted mother of Linda Barone and her husband Charlie. Mary’s greatest joy in life was her grandsons, Michael, Christian, and Nicholas; she was their biggest fan and advocate. Baba’s boys could never do any wrong or harm in her eyes.
Mary will also be dearly remembered by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and cousins, in Canada, Greece, the USA and Australia, all of whom she loved deeply and always looked forward to seeing and speaking with either in person or on the “computer”.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all of our family and friends, PSWs (Gail and Nancy), and neighbours who helped Mary remain comfortably at home. We are especially appreciative to her physicians, Dr. Hambly, Dr. Pugsley, and Dr. Ganame, for their genuine care throughout her journey. A special thank you is also extended to the remarkable team at St. Joseph’s Hospital, whose compassion and exemplary care far exceeded our expectations and provided her the dignity she deserved in her final days. We will be forever grateful for you.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home, 322 Fennell Ave. E., Hamilton on Monday, February 16th from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m., with Prayers at 3 p.m.
The Funeral Service will take place at Panagia Greek Orthodox Church, 233 East 15th St., Hamilton on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 11 a.m., followed by interment in Woodland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to the Firestone Institute for Respiratory Health, St. Joseph’s Health.
