Mate "Matt" Laslavic

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Mate (Matt) Laslavic on May 5, 2013 at Emmanuel House after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by his beloved niece Ankica (children Sandra (Oleg) and Bruno (Kathren), nephew Joe (Zdenka) and children, and nephew Walter (Kathy). Predeceased by brothers Josip and Steve and sister Barbara. Dear brother in law of Marica. Also remembered by many dear friends, especially very dear friend Pedro. Special thanks to the staff at Emmanuel House for their wonderful care and compassion. Visitation at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, Ontario, L8K 1V7, (905) 547-1121, on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm with Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Holy Cross Croatian Roman Catholic Church, 1883 King Street East, Hamilton, Ontario, L8K 1V9 at 9:30 am. Interment at Assumption Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Road, Mississauga, Ontario, L5T 1N4. A wake will follow at Croatia Restaurant - 1989A Dundas Street East, Mississauga, Ontario L4X 1M1.
