Predeceased by her parents William (1971) and Amy Payne (1981) and by her brother Douglas Payne (2005).
Mavis was an employee of the Hamilton Spectator. Mavis will be dearly missed by friends and members of her church family at MacNab Street Presbyterian Church, Chedoke Presbyterian Church and Philpott Memorial Church. A graveside committal service will take place at Hamilton Cemetery, 777 York Blvd, Hamilton in Section Z on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to MacNab Street Presbyterian Church or Effect Hope (Leprosy Mission Canada).
