Michael Symak

Passed away peacefully on November 2, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in his 96th year. Reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife Rose. Loving father of Helen Casey and Mike (Anita). Much loved grandfather of Angela (Dan), Jennifer (Todd), Laura (Jamie), Michael (Mavis) and Chris. Cherished “Papa” of Justin, Nicholas, Sarah, Hayley and Denyne. Survived by sisters Pat Pantella (the late Mike), Helene Yuzwa (the late Paul), Ollie Komarnicki (Mike). Predeceased by his brother Morris. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Michael was a retired employee of Westinghouse after many years of dedicated service. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and palliative care team of St. Joseph’s Hospital for their exceptional care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 128 Edgemont St. S, on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment Mountview Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
