Mijo Benic

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mijo at the Juravinski Hospital in his 72nd year, after a lengthy illness and surrounded by the love of family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 44years Marica (Mary). Loving father of daughter Darlene and son Danny. He will be sadly missed by his sister Barbara and family. Mijo will forever live on in the hearts of family Les, Brinjak, Maletic, kumovi Skot and Lesic, by his best friend Joe Maletic and his family and extended family in Croatia. He has been reunited with his dear parents Mijo and Ana, brothers Toni and Jure and family. Thank you to his Doctors, Dr. Ted and Dr. Marco Puglia,his nursing team on 4x at McMaster Hospital and to the wonderful care from the staff of the Juravinksi Hospital. A heartfelt thank you to our extended family,kumovi and friends for your love and support for so many years. Family and friends are welcome to visitation at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9pm. Vigil prayers on Friday at 7:15pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 9am. Interment in Mt View Gardens Cemetery Stoney Creek to Follow. Donations to Holy Cross Church would be greatly appreciated.
