She has gone to be with her Lord and is now reunited with her beloved husband Jerry and her children Billy and Susan. Born in Canfield Ontario August 13, 1928, Mildred left home at a young age to pursue her calling in nursing. A proud 1949 graduate of Hamilton General Hospital, she dedicated her professional life to the care of others.
Her career spanned years of service in obstetrics at Joseph Brant Burlington and later in long-term care in Hamilton until her retirement.
Mildreds retirement years were defined by the same love and devotion she gave to her patients, as she cared deeply for her husband Jerry. She remained a vibrant member of her community - active in her church and cherished time spent in the country with her family.
Mildred will be dearly missed by her niece Judy. Over many years together, Judy provided her with unconditional love and support and compassion, including many memorable trips they shared.
For the past several years Mildred resided at Deerview in Hamilton. She was a spark within that fun loving community, maintaining her active, kind and caring spirit until the end.
Amongst her greatest supporters was her great niece Emma. Emma remained a constant, devoted presence by Mildred's side, truly enriching her final years.
Mildred was predeceased by her siblings Lois, Marion, and Charles, her nephew Larry Moodie, her great nephews Wesley Moodie and
John and Paul Logan, and her great niece Larissa Yarr.
Mildred leaves to mourn her loss, many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartful gratitude to family and friends who have supported Mildred on her journey. Thank you staff at Deerview Crossing, Juravinski, and Satellite Health for treating this very special lady with the dignity and love she so deserved.
A true angel has now entered the gates of heaven.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Cresmont Funeral Home.
