Murray Clarence Brown

Murray was the 10th of 13 children born to Harvey and Annie Brown. He was the beloved husband of Barb Brown (née Nelson) for over 67 wonderful years, and a devoted father to Kenneth and Charlene. He was a cherished grandfather to five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and was recently blessed with his first great-great-grandson, Weston, born on July 16, 2025. Predeceased by his sweet granddaughter Caitlyn.

A dedicated community member, Murray spent many years coaching baseball at Macassa Park and volunteering as a driver for DARTS. He was a proud member of Legion Branch 163 since 1977, where he served on the executive, became President, and was later honoured as a Life Member. He also served as Zone B-6 Treasurer for 11 years.

Murray was a longstanding and proud member of the Branch 163 Men’s Colour Party, and he enjoyed playing darts and cards with his many friends.

He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue E. on Monday, July 28, 2025 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm and on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 12-1pm. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 1pm. Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Donations in Murray's memory can be made to McMaster's Children's Hospital or Make-a-Wish Foundation.
