God, in His great mercy, saw that she was tired and called her home. Predeceased by her loving husband Tadeusz, of 55 years (2004) and by her five younger siblings in Poland.
Mama was born in Poland and taken as a prisoner of war to Germany at the age of 15 to work on a farm. Mom and Dad met after the war in Germany and married in Canada in 1949. Her values were shaped through her faith and the hardships that she experienced in her youth. She hosted many happy occasions with family and friends. Our Mama was a fabulous cook, baker, seamstress, and knitter. She worked tirelessly – yet happily – in devotion to her family. She found great joy in gardening and travelling.
Natalia is survived by her children Halina Krajewski (Jerry), Michael (Suzette), Ted (Lisa) and her niece Halina Markowski (Krzystof). Mama measured her blessings in terms of her 7 grandchildren: Renee Krajewski-Colterman (John), Andrew Krajewski (Allison), Dylan (Samantha), Brodie, Rudy (Katie), Rebecca (Jake), and Jessica, along with her 11 great grandchildren. There are also nieces and nephews in Canada and Poland.
Natalia had a boundless faith in our Lord and trusted in the care of our Blessed Mother Mary. She was an active member of St. Stanislaus’ Rosary Society and the CWL for over 40 years. Mama enjoyed her involvement with the Seniors’ Club at the Polish National Union in Burlington. Natalia spent her last four years at the Clarion Nursing Home in Stoney Creek. We wish to thank all the staff for their constant compassion, kindness, and care.
