RUPCIC, Nikola – Peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on October 5, 2014 the Lord called home His faithful servant Nikola in his 87th year. He is reunited with his beloved wife Bara (2001) and his parents Jure and Dragica. Loving and devoted father of Marija Jurcic (Bruno Skender), Dragica Topic (the late John), Ankica Kapusin (Josip), Nada Simatovic (John Umolac) and Alojzije Rupcic. Predeceased by his siblings in Croatia. Cherished dida of his grandchildren Tina (Chris) Koelz, Renata Jurcic (Mark Rioux), Adriana (Tomislav) Karaula, Johnny Topic, Irena (Paul) Hecimovic, Rosie Topic, Joey Kapusin (Ann Hilliard), Anita (Domagoj) Jerkovic, Kristina (Mario) Cosic, Mark Simatovic and Marina (Kevin) Jarrett. Proud great-grandfather of 16 beautiful great-grandchildren. Nikola was a simple hard-working man and was always thankful to God for his many blessings. He loved to share his fruits and vegetables from his garden. His love and devotion for his family was unparalleled and his passing has left an emptiness that can never be fulfilled. He was a faithful servant of God and is now in His loving care. A special thank you to nurse Bonnie for her special care. Deepest gratitude to Father Marijan Mihokovic at Holy Cross Croatian Parish. Family and friends will be received at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday October 7th from 2-4 and 6-9pm with Vigil Prayers at 3:45pm. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Cross Croatian Parish, 1883 King Street East on Wednesday October 8, 2014 at 9:30am. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery. Nikola’s wishes were in lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Cross Croatian Parish or to his homeland Church in Cetingrad, Croatia would be gratefully appreciated.
