

Beloved husband of Manda for 60 years. Loving father of John (Linda) and Michael (Mary Ann). Cherished dida of Katherine, Charlotte, Adam and Natalie. Predeceased by his parents Jure and Kata Starčević of Donje Pazarište, Lika, Croatia, his brother Ivan (Lujka) and his sisters Marija and Lucija. Nikola is survived by his brothers Stjepan (Mira), Mirko (Ivka) and his sisters Ana (the late Nikola) and Kata (Vlado). He will be truly missed by his many God-children, nephews, nieces, friends and extended family within Canada and Croatia.
Upon arriving to Canada, Nikola worked at Northwest Pulp and Paper for 15 years in Hinton, Alberta. Upon arriving to Hamilton, he then worked at Dofasco for 20 years. Nikola was an avid gardener, tinkerer and loved to take long walks around his neighbourhood. He would always give a helping hand to all of those who asked.
We sincerely thank the staff at the Juravinski Hospital for all of the care and compassion they provided to Nikola.
We miss you, love you, and you will be in our hearts, minds and souls forever.

Resting at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton for visitation on Friday, August 29, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. Prayers will be held at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, 63 Highway 20 East, Stoney Creek on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek.
