Panagiota passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025 in her 83rd year. She leaves behind a profound legacy of love and cherished memories.
Born in Paparis, Greece, Panagiota immigrated to Canada, where she met and married the love of her life, her beloved husband Panagiotis. She is predeceased by her parents, Ιωάννα and Μιχάλη Tasiopoulos, her brother Panagiotis Tasiopoulos, and is now reunited with her loving husband and soul mate, Panagiotis Georgakopoulos.
Panagiota was a devoted and loving mother to her sons Steve (Connie) Georgakopoulos and Mike (Helen) Georgakopoulos. Panagiota was a proud and loving grandmother to Patrisha (Ryan), Alexis, Peter, and Niko.
She will be missed by her brother Sarantos Tasiopoulos in Tripoli, Greece and her many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. She was deeply loved by many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins and friends in Canada, USA and Greece.
A woman of immense warmth, Panagiota will be remembered for her kindness, her incredible cooking, and the boundless love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Among her greatest joys were the precious moments shared with her grandchildren—each one holding a special place in her heart—as she cheered them on through every milestone.
Panagiota was a proud member of the Philoptochos Society and a devoted servant of the Greek Orthodox Church, where she faithfully served as President of the Philoptochos. Her faith, community spirit, and commitment to helping others were constants throughout her life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Wentworth Heights for their care, compassion, and support.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home on Monday, December 1st, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at Panagia Dormition Theotokos Orthodox Church on December 2nd at 10:00 a.m., followed by the burial at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, 260 Rymal Rd E.
