

Born July 15, 1926 in Rockport, NB, and passed away peacefully July 29, 2015 at her home in Hamilton, ON, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Eugene and May (Briggs) Tower. A great woman with a big heart, she was predeceased by the love of her life Marven Goodwin, they were married for 69 years. Loved by her 3 children, Marion (Errol Day), Douglas (Nancy)Tower, and Billy (Shelly) Porter. Nanny to Belinda, Arlie, Crystal, Deanna, Crystal (Chris Balkou), Douglas, David, Tori, Shae-lyn, Kody, 11 great-grandchildren, including her sweetheart Audrey. Survived by her brother Gaius (Helen) Tower, predeceased by sisters Helen (Donald)Porter, Bernice(Carman) Snowden, May (Rupert) Read, Ivy (Norman) Tower, Violet(Leslie) Smith, Ethel Rideout and brothers Winston , Eugene (Barb), George (Laura) and Wilbur. She will be sadly missed by many family members and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her Walmart Coffee friends and Stanley Seniors group. She was a member of Stanley Avenue Baptist Church for 36 years. Special thanks to Dr. Paul Hart, her team at Juravinski Cancer Center, her Palliative team from C.C.A.C, her PSW’s from CBI Home Health, her nursing team from St. Joseph’s Home Care, the Dr. Bob Kemp Day Hospice and the Cancer Assistance Program for giving her hope and comfort this year. Visitation will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford Ave.) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery.
