Phyllis May Brown

Born in Hannon, in her 93rd year, died peacefully at home July 20, 2013. Devoted wife of G. Bertram Brown and loving mother of Bert (Suzanne), Janet Rush and Robert (Sherry), beloved grandmother of Emma, Sam, Alex, Max, Zoe, Ted, Kate and Maddie. Aunt and Great Aunt to countless nieces and nephews. Phyllis is survived by her siblings Patricia, Jack and Rodger and predeceased by Blair, Jeanne, Doris, Kathleen and Joyce. In her early life Phyllis was head of the candy counter at Eaton’s. She was a long time volunteer for the Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels. Phyllis was remarkably loyal to her large family and beloved friends. Love, caring and kindness were her strongest attributes. Her generous nature was boundless. Visitation will be at TRUSCOTT, BROWN & DWYER FUNERAL CHAPEL (1309 King Street East, across from Gage Park at the delta) on Monday, July 22 from 7 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, July 23 from 11:30 am to 1 pm. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, immediately following the visitation and will conclude with interment at St. George’s Cemetery, Hannon.
