Piotr "Peter" Pasionek

July 29, 1933 – January 19, 2015

It is with great sorrow that we share the loss of our courageous husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Piotr Pasionek passed away peacefully at his home after a short battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family. Forever missed by his wife of 59 years, Maria (Smulski), loving father of Irena Pasionek (Ted) , Teresa Wołoch and her husband Zbyszek , Bogda (Bev) Labak and her husband Zbyszek, Ewa Olszak and her husband Jacek, and Staś and his wife Martha Lucía. Cherished grandfather of Ela, Ania, Robert, Christopher (Jessica), Renia, Dorothy, Annette, Maya Eléna, and Nathalie Ianina. Beloved Great-Grandfather to Zenek and Finnigan.

He will be joining his parents, Stanisław and Małgorzata, his brother Czesław and his sister Zosia Kadubiec. He will be sadly missed by his two sisters Maria and Jozefa, by his brother Jan, and the entire family in Poland. He will also be fondly remembered by many friends and extended family here in Canada and in Poland.

Our father was a man of few words but with a big heart who expressed himself much better through his love of music. We will never forget his wonderful voice singing as the organist in our parish church in Poland for 20 years as well as at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Hamilton. We will cherish the many, many gatherings with family and friends where his music and singing were always enjoyed by all.

His joy was spending time at our Kaszuby cottage with family and friends, fishing, picking wild mushrooms and going on walks with his grandchildren.

He very much enjoyed gardening and sharing his harvests with his children.

We will forever be grateful for all that he was to us and will miss him dearly.

Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton, Ontario on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. Rosary prayers at 7:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church, 8 St. Ann Street on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 11am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
