

MacGILLIVRAY, Ray Suddenly passed away at his home on Friday, October 12, 2012, at the age of 83. Will be sadly missed by his wife Mary. Dearest dad to Josie of Victoria B.C., Danny (Thelma) of Antigonish, N.S. and step-dad of Lorraine (Joe) of Hamilton. Pre-deceased by his daughter Cathy (Kate). Pop-e will be sadly missed by Kate's children Dana, Nicole, Chantelle and Jackie, Josie's daughter Emma, Danny's children David, Karie, Sarah, Raymond, Derrick and Katie, Lorraine's daughters Jessica and Corie, and by all his many great- and great-great-grandchildren. Also remembered by his siblings Mary, John and Nan of Antigonish, Jean of Washington, Doug, Lawrence and Roddy of Hamilton and their families. Predeceased by A.J. and Donald. Born in Antigonish, Ray travelled to work in B.C. before finally settling in Hamilton where he worked for Stelco for 37 years making many long-lasting friendships along the way. Ray always kept to his roots, spending the summer months in Antigonish. The family will receive friends at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street E. (at Kenilworth), on Monday, October 15, 2012, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Vigil prayers Monday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene's Roman Catholic Church (232 Queenston Rd. at Parkdale Ave. S.) on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place in Antigonish, at a later date. If so desired, donations may be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
