Ray’s long medical journey came to a peaceful close, and he went home to be with his Saviour.
He is survived by Pat, his beloved wife of 65 years; his sons Steve (Chris), Gary (Wendy), and Mark (Lisa); his brother Lorne (Janet); his cherished grandchildren Cheryl, Jose (Luke), Kyle, Jessica (Kevin), Josh (Monika), Zack (Emma), Ryan (Ally), Dan, Ben & Nathan – as well as many great-grandchildren. Ray is predeceased by his sister Darlene and her husband Grant.
Faith was central throughout Ray and Pat’s life together. They began their journey at West Hamilton Gospel Church, later becoming founding members of Heritage Fellowship Baptist Church in Ancaster. In their later years, they were active members of West Highland Baptist Church, where they served faithfully in support roles and senior ministries.
The family extends sincere thanks to the many medical professionals who cared for Ray over the years, and especially to the compassionate and empathetic staff at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas. The kindness and dedication of those on “Lilac Lane” brought great comfort and peace to Ray and his family.
The family wishes to invite friends to join them in a service in remembrance of Ray at West Highland Church, 1605 Garth St. on Friday, April 17, at 11:00am. Interment will follow immediately after the service at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, 1895 Main Street W. with a time of fellowship and lunch back at the church.
