It is with profound sadness that we share the peaceful passing of Reginald Langley, aged 95, of Burlington, Ontario, on August 27, 2024, at Hamilton General Hospital. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Olive for 65 years. Cherished father of Annette (Frank), Allan (Kathryn) and Brian. Beloved Papa of Jessica (Nate), Michelle (Derek), Christopher (Mylène), Jonathan (Arian), Nicholas (Kayla), Chelsea and Riley. Great-grandfather to Joey, Michael and Elise. Brother-in-law of Marjorie and Shirley. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada and England.
Reg was born in Liverpool, United Kingdom, on October 3, 1928. In 1956, he emigrated to Canada, settling in Hamilton, Ontario, where he met the love of his life, Olive. Reg and Olive remained in Hamilton to raise their three children. Reg had a passion for sailing, spending many years with his family sailing around Lake Ontario. He worked hard for 30+ years at Stelco in Hamilton. In his retirement, Reg enjoyed regular golf games with the guys and coffee meet-ups at Tim Hortons (later McDonald’s) with many friends. Reg was known for his great British humor and his ability to fix almost anything. He loved all his grandkids, cherished hearing about their lives, and was very proud of each of them. He was a kind soul who loved spending time with friends and family. Reg was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back and will always be remembered as such.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Hamilton General Hospital and the dedicated PSW home nursing care team for their exceptional care.
Visitation will be held at Cresmount Funeral Home (322 Fennell Ave. E., Hamilton) on Monday, September 2, 2024, from noon to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
